Counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families.

About

My goal at Elle L. Psychotherapy is to create an inclusive space where you can feel vulnerable and express yourself without judgment. My approach to therapy is strengths-based and integrative, so treatment is collaborative in creating individualized goals for therapy and making our time together a place where you can feel heard and understood.

Individual, Family, and Couples Psychotherapy

(Virtual-New York, New Jersey, & CT Residents Only):

We will begin therapy together with a 60 minute initial biopsychosocial intake assessment and will then decide if we want to continue with 60 minute sessions or 45 minute sessions. Sessions are typically held 1-2x per week, based on individual needs and preferences.

Caregiver Coaching & Consultation

30-60 minute sessions available to supports who have family members or loved ones struggling with an eating disorder. I will guide you to understand the development of an eating disorder and skills on how to engage and communicate with your loved one.

If you feel ready, please reach out for a free 20 minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit in working together.

Professional Development

Academic Training

I attended Boston College for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees, where I studied Applied Psychology & Human Development and received my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling.

Presentations

I have presented at many academic institutions on the harms of diet culture, weight stigma, fatphobia, and how these can lead to the development of an eating disorder. I have ran a caregiver coaching group for those with loved ones struggling with an eating disorder; providing tangible skills and psychoeducation.

Clinical Experience

I trained at The Renfrew Center, one of the nation’s leading eating disorder treatment centers. I use a combination of theoretical orientations including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness practices. I have experience and training with those struggling with anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationship issues.
